Food Photography
I made some white chocolate leaves by painting melted chocolate onto rose leaves, letting them cool, then peeling them off. I got the idea from a magazine that I picked up at whole foods while wandering the isles brainstorming what i would do for the assignment. It took two tries to get it, im pleased with the results.

Swillmerchants Promo shoot
The Swillmerchants have always been one of my favorite local bands, and I was all kinds of excited and nervous about photographing them. We had a hard time nailing down some concepts and ideas but in the end we were all happy about the results. They're an exceptional group of guys and im looking forward to doing more with them. Check em out on Myspace or their website

Film!
I took a black and white film class at Umass a year ago, and i felt like i never got the hang of it. It definitely has a much longer learning curve than digital. I had a chance to try medium format color film over winter break and i have to say, im quite pleased with the results. I love the hues and depth film has.

My friend Christina modeled for me for my window lit portrait assignment for school. We had a great time and i learned some things and gained some confidence in working with a model.

This is my friend Brendan Dean. Seeing how a daylight uv and lampshade light look on film.

This is me and my Dad, just look at that goofy grin on my face. this is right after he cut my hair when i came home for Christmas. He's a pretty cool guy and an amazing father.

Swillmerchants @ MaxCap
I got to photograph the Swillmerchants (check 'em out, they're awesome) last Saturday. I'd never been to Maximum Capacity in Chicopee, it was a good venue with sweet lights and a fog machines, the adjacent bar and downstairs had a weird vibe though. I brought my pocket wizards, which i was eager to try out, and 580 speedlight. I put a blue gel on the speedlight and placed it on a big box on the side of the stage towards the back to create a rim light on one side of the musicians, it worked out pretty well.

New Posts to Flickr
Just updated my flickr! check it out. Tomorrow i'll be shooting an Environmental still life in the commercial studio. My girlfriend has a line of crafty things that i'll set up next to her sewing machine, hoping to light it to look like morning light is filtering through a window, maybe throw a steaming cup of tea in there too! Today we had Greg Heislers class, playing with home depot fluorescent fand tungsten bulbs. It was tons of fun and had great results, can't wait to get the time and spare change to head over to the hardware store. Haven't had much time for post, but heres a little version of what we did in class today:

P.s. be sure to check back for the podcasts to my radio show!
